Daniel A. Smith, MIT Class of 1903 

Daniel Arthur Smith '03 majored in Electrical Engineering (Course VI). He went on to work for three years at the Tuskegee Institute, where he installed its first electrical plant. Smith later earned a medical degree from University of Pennsylvania. He practiced medicine in the Harlem section of New York City for a few years, before moving his practice to Wilmington, DE and then to Newport, RI. Smith also had a career in politics.
