Humans of MIT: John Urschel, 2017
Humans of MIT

John Urschel hides behind his math mug, MIT, 26 April 2017.

I love MIT a lot but I think MIT is different for me than it is for you. For me, MIT is awesome because MIT is vacation. Classes and math and all of these things, these are my vacation. I don't know, I just want to learn math and prove things. That’s fun. Sooner than later, I’m going to be retired from pro football, and still doing math just because I want to, not because I need to.

John Urschel PhD '21, doctoral student in Mathematics and former NFL player

In 2014, four MIT students created Humans of MIT, a Facebook portrait-blog inspired by Brandon Stanton's Humans of New York, that captures life in the MIT community through a single photo and the subject’s own words.
