During the 2015 MIT Alumni Leadership Conference (ALC), the Black Alumni/ae of MIT (BAMIT) gathered colleagues and friends to pay tribute to the unprecedented back-to-back appointments of three distinguished black faculty members:

  • Paula T. Hammond '84, PhD '93, Head of the Chemical Engineering
  • Melissa Nobles: Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at MIT
  • Marcus A. Thompson: Institute Professor
