TEDxBermuda: "The House that Larry Printed" (2011)

Lawrence "Larry" Sass SMArch ’94, PhD ‘00, MIT Professor of Architecture, talks about mass customizing buildings using clever software and standard materials shaped on site. Using commonly available materials reduces both manufacturing and transport costs and a flexible design avoids the uniformity of traditional modular buildings. Larry shows an actual digitally fabricated house produced for New Orleans that was assembled from a flat pack by a couple of average people.
