Lawrence E. Milan was a Personnel Officer (1978-80) and MIT Alumni Association Regional Director for the Midwest (1980-85). He earned a BA (English, health, and physical education) from Bluffton College and an MA (personnel management/labor relations, higher education administration) from Michigan State University. Prior to his appointment at MIT, Milan served as Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs and as Assistant to the President at SUNY Oswego. After MIT, he held positions in human resources at Pitney Bowes Inc., Aetna Retirement Services, and served as Vice President and Treasurer for the Connecticut chapter of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.
