Gloria Green (Hooks)  '54 was the second black woman on record to attend MIT (45 years after the first, Marie C. Turner).

Paul E. Gray '54, SM '55, ScD '60 would later teach at MIT, eventually serving as the Institute's 14th president from 1980 to 1990.
